Uniform Guidelines

FOR ALL STUDENTS PRE-K THROUGH 8TH GRADE.
Please mark all hats, coats, sweaters, etc. with your child’s name.
Students should be in compliance with uniform guidelines every day unless otherwise advised. Occasionally the school announces a “Non-uniform Day” and students wear jeans and a Rosary shirt. Special events allowing for alternative dress will be announced during the year. Students who have three incidents of being out of dress code will lose the privilege of the next non-uniform day.
Rosary Catholic School uses two uniform supply companies for our student daily wear.
Parker School Uniform, located at 9633 N. May Ave. 478-0813.
All uniform items are available through Parker School Uniforms.
All plaid jumpers, skirts, khaki skirts, and girl’s outer blouses
must be ordered through Parker Uniform.
McKenzie & Co. – Orders taken through the school office, 525-9272.
All Physical Education T-Shirts, Rosary PE shorts – modesty shorts
and Rosary sweatshirts must be ordered through McKenzie & Co.
Orders are filled in August and January.

Other appropriate white, dark khaki, gray and navy apparel may be purchased at area stores but must conform to the standards outlined below.
Warm-up jackets and coats are not to be worn inside the building except when leaving or entering the building. They may not be worn during classes and must be kept in the cubby or locker areas. No torn clothing will be tolerated. Even though something is not covered in the handbook does not mean that it will be acceptable. The administration, faculty, and staff reserve the right to interpret what is appropriate and have the discretion to determine the standard of acceptability.

PRE-K THROUGH 4TH GRADE GIRLS AND BOYS UNIFORMS
JUMPER: Plaid uniforms must be ordered from Parker Uniform Co.
Must have a hem no shorter than 2 ½ inches above the knee (width of a dollar bill)
BLOUSE / SHIRT – GIRLS AND BOYS – Plain, unadorned solid white or navy blue
Must be Izod or Parker Uniform quality or appearance.
The optional RCS logo is available on Parker uniform knit shirt or ordered for personal shirt for $3.00 through the school office.
May be either long or short-sleeved, (sleeves may not be rolled up).
May be cotton or knit, white or navy blue.
Must be Polo style collar if it is the boy’s shirt.
May be turtleneck or Polo style. May not have crew or mock style collar.
May not have contrasting colored trim, emblems or crests.
May not be made of jean or chambray fabric.
Must be tucked in.
PRE-K THROUGH 4TH GRADE GIRLS AND BOYS UNIFORMS
*******SLACKS – Solid navy blue or dark khaki slacks, true to the Parker Uniform code.
May not be over-sized and must be worn at the hips.
Must be a polyester cotton blend.
May not be corduroy or jean material.
May not be slacks with stitching of a contrasting color.
May not be slacks with a drawstring waist.
May not have outside pockets or be cargo pants.
********* WALKING SHORTS: Solid navy blue or dark khaki shorts. No cargo.
Must be no shorter than 2 ½ inches above the knee (width of a dollar bill).
********* BELTS : Navy, black or brown belts worn with belt loops.
(Pre-K and Kindergarten are not required to wear belts).
********* SOCKS/ TIGHTS: Solid navy or solid white socks or tights must be worn.
May wear Rosary school uniform plaid-trimmed socks from Parker Co.
MUST NOT WEAR LEG WARMERS or leggings.
********** MODESTY SHORTS –GIRLS: Solid navy blue shorts.
Must be worn every day under jumper and skirts.
********** PE UNIFORM: Tennis shoes for girls and boys.
5th grade Girls and Boys must wear McKenzie shorts.
5th grade boys & girls must wear McKenzie gray, Rosary shirt.
********** UNDERSHIRTS:
Must be plain white, plain gray or plain navy blue.
********** SWEATERS: Solid navy blue cardigans, pullovers or vest style.
Must be worn OVER the uniform shirt or blouse.
May NOT be oversized or undersized.
Must fit properly.

********** SWEATSHIRTS: Only Rosary sweatshirts from McKenzie & Co.
Gray Athletic Sweatshirts are NOT uniform and may only be worn outside.
Must fit properly.
Must be worn OVER uniform shirt or blouse, which is required daily uniform.

********** ACCESSORIES:
EARRINGS:
Only girls may wear earrings.
Only one set of stud earrings may be worn.
BODY PIERCINGS:
No other body piercing other than the ear is allowed.
TATTOOS:
No tattoos are allowed.
JEWELRY:
Only a simple necklace with a cross or religious medal is allowed.
Only watches with silent alarms are allowed.
NAILS: Only clear polish may be worn on the nails.
***********HAIR ACCESSORIES : Bows, ribbons, barrettes or headbands
Must be white, black, navy blue, light blue or the Rosary plaid.
********** HAIR: Girls and Boys
Must be clean and kept trimmed
May not hang in front of the eyes.
May not be unusual in style or color, (excessively dyed, bleached or gelled).
Boys hair MAY NOT touch the collar or hang over the ears.
********* SHOES: All shoes must be ATHLETIC style with laces. Shoelaces must be tied. PreK and K may wear Velcro.
Must be predominantly one solid color –WHITE OR BLACK
Must be closed toed and closed heeled.
May NOT be high topped sneakers or roller skate sneakers.
May NOT be sandals, croc style, flip-flops, slip-on Vans or gel shoes.
May NOT be boots, ballet flats, or slip-on style shoes.
********** SCOUTS: All Scout Uniforms for girls and boys
May be worn during the school hours on Scout meeting days.
OUT OF UNIFORM GUIDELINES:
On special days the students may wear jeans and Rosary T-shirt or sweatshirt. All shoe and sock requirements apply on out of uniform days! The students and parents will be notified of these special days.

Must serve as the shorts for the PE uniform for girls and boys.

Must wear tennis shoes for girls and boys
Boys and girls must wear McKenzie & Co. shorts of the appropriate size and length.
Must wear gray Rosary T-shirt from McKenzie & Co.
********** UNDERSHIRTS:

******* MAKE-UP: 7th & 8th GRADE GIRLS ONLY – OPTIONAL – BY CHOICE
Must be LIGHT, daytime makeup.
Must be only light foundation or cover-up.
Must be only light blush.
Must be only lip gloss – no lipstick.
Must be only light mascara.
ONLY LIP GLOSS MAY BE APPLIED DURING THE SCHOOL DAY – OTHER MAKEUP MUST BE APPLIED BEFORE SCHOOL AT HOME. IF MAKEUP,
OTHER THAN LIP GLOSS IS FOUND, IT WILL BE CONFISCATED BY THE PRINCIPAL.
NO MAKEUP MAY BE WORN BY STUDENTS OTHER THAN GIRLS IN THE 7TH & 8TH GRADE.
IF STUDENT IS FOUND TO BE WEARING EXCESSIVE MAKEUP THEN PARENTS WILL BE CALLED BY THE PRINCIPAL AND PRIVILEGES WILL
BE REVOKED

Must be predominantly one SOLID color – WHITE OR BLACK.
